Scoping Workshop
While the situation on the ground leaves us in despair, the scoping workshop on the 1st and 2nd July 2024 was our opportunity to meet physically, exchange ideas and lay the foundation for furthering our concept on a vision for hope.
Local workshops
A series of local workshops were initiated in October 2024 and continued in parallel with the development of the scenarios and steps to a Vision of Hope. These were conducted in Ramallah with online participation from Gaza.
World Urban Forum 12
The Anthedon presentation at the WUF12 in Cairo was held under the heading of ‘Role of cultural and natural heritage in addressing polycrises and urban recovery’. An Interim Report was published and discussed.
Borders Forum
A key Anthedon partner has been the MOT in considering that transborder metropolises are realities and the Borders Forum was an opportunity to share experiences beyond political conflicts in the Levant.
Concluding workshop
Participants engaged in roundtable discussions on strategies, barriers, and opportunities for Gaza’s reconstruction, structured around three key themes: Connectivity & Integration, Sustainability & Resilience, and Social & Economic Cohesion.
Gaza: A Vision of Hope, Final Report
"Gaza: A Vision of Hope" is a collective work of the Anthedon initiative.
Anthedon is the collective work of a team from the HERITOPOLIS Consortium, together with other experts addressing specific issues relevant to the Initiative and in consultation with key local professionals.HERITOPOLIS - Heritage and the Metropolis - is an open-ended research network established in 2021 to explore how metropolises are being (re-)shaped by heritage and how they are redefining its meaning.
